The Double Leg over

On the Double Leg Over you pass the disc on a nail delay from one hand to the other, while hopping over the disc with both legs.

For the right handed double leg over, delay the disc on the right hand at waist level. Hop over the disc with both legs by swinging both legs from left to right over the disc as you pass the disc from the right hand to the left hand, start the hop with your right leg swinging the disc left to right and follow almost immediately with the left leg. The disc pretty much stays in the same place as you pass it from one hand to the other.

If you are totally lost here, try doing the move without the nail delay. Hold the disc in the the right hand. Starting with the right leg swinging left to right over the disc, and following almost immediately with the left leg pass the disc from your right hand to your left hand. You can do this even with a basketball. I was in a Nike Freestyle commercial and we were doing a fitting for the commercial. I got a chance to meet some of the basketball freestylers or Street ballers and we were trading moves. And I was doing freestyle frisbee moves with a basketball. This double leg over was one move they were particularly impressed with and hadn't seen before.

Common problems with pulling off the move: Judging how high to lift the disc when passing from one hand to the other. The disc should rise a little bit, maybe an inch or two, but you must also be able to clear it with your legs. If you set the disc too high it will hit your legs. Just keep trying it until you get the timing and the feel. When you do it right, analyze why it worked and try to repeat the same technique.

Once you learn the double leg over by passing the disc from the right hand to the left under both legs, try the double leg over the other direction, from left hand to right hand.

DOUBLE LEG OVER INVERT
The next variation is Intermediate to Advanced. Double leg over from right hand to left hand. As you hop over the disc once the disc has cleared your left leg shift your body somewhat to the right and quickly rotate your left hand clockwise into the inverted nail delay position.

DOUBLE OVER DOWN
Once you have the double leg over you can learn some of the variations. These are much more difficult. Try the double leg over with the right hand, and instead of hopping over the disc and passing it to your left hand, get the disc back on the nail delay with your right hand instead. So its right hand, hop over, right hand again. This means you have to move your right hand quickly to your left with to get the disc back on the right handed nail delay. But the palm of your right hand needs to be face down. Set the disc, right hand palm up, hop over, receive the disc palm down. The hard part of this move is timing, quickness and flexibility. After you set the disc under you right leg as you hop over with both legs, you have to move your right hand very quickly across your body, then move your hand down, underneath the disc or the disc will drop quickly to the ground. Another variation is called the Double Over Down, in which as you do a double leg over and as you move your right hand across your body and down underneath the disc, you follow the disc down to the ground using your left hand and straightened left leg to brace yourself on the ground (your right leg will be bent with your right foot touching the ground). You reach the ground before the disc does and then you delay the disc with your right hand palm down. The position you are in would almost look like you are stretching your left hamstring resting on your left hand with your right leg is bent, your right foot on the ground. (It's very wordy on a website. It will be clearer on our next DVD).

DOUBLE OVER DOWN INVERT
The next step in difficulty is the Double Over Down Invert. Do the double over down and instead of the palm down nail delay, rotate your right hand counter clockwise into the invert position and receive the disc on an inverted delay. This is a very high difficulty move. Very few people in the world can do this move.
